Bear Claw Sitka Spruce has genetic attributes that produce a figuring suggestive of a bear clawing his way across the grain (It has been a long standing myth that the “bear clawing” in the wood was caused by bears sharpening their claws on the tree while it was growing). Lateral figuring makes this wood nice and stiff with a striking look, making it an excellent choice long sought after by guitar enthusiast for their guitar tops. The NRS-Sunburst in Bear Claw Spruce is not only striking because of the carefully chosen Bear Claw top but it is meticulously and carefully sunburst with rich yellow and brown hues giving it that beautiful and desirable tobacco finish. The wood combination of Bear Claw Spruce and the Mahogany back and sides gives this guitar a cutting edge acoustic projection, tone and look not found in any other thin-body acoustic. She is a beauty in sound and looks. The NRS Sunburst is also offered in Spruce without the Bearclawing.
